INDONESIAN STUDENTS’ PERCEPTIONS OF ENGLISH MEDIUM INSTRUCTION

There has been an increasing trend in Indonesian higher education to run international programs. As a result, English for Medium Instruction (EMI) started be implemented several departments at universities. To successfully implement EMI classes, lecturers and students do play significant roles. This paper aims gain insights into students’ perceptions of the challenges they faced terms understanding subject content. Using convenience sampling, 35 undergraduate International Psychology Program (IPP) private university Indonesia were selected as participants study. We used explanatory sequential design using questionnaires interviews instruments collect data. The findings revealed that majority have positive perception implementation their classes. However, its also posed some such difficulties comprehending lectures lack ability conduct classroom discussions. suggested need training before courses help increase proficiency level well improve pedagogic competence.
